So here I am, in Chicago.

I'm 23, and a recent immigrant to the Windy City. I work as a Web Development Engineer, which is a souped-up term for a guy who doesn't do the graphic design for new websites. I've always lived in the Midwest, but in Chicago for only a number of months now. Truly, it is a wonderful place. I live up in the Lakeview district, which is nice, if not a little yuppie-ridden. No complaints from me, though, because lots of Young Urban Professionals means less crime. Go neighborhood.

I was born in a small town in Iowa. Really, really small. Like population 12,000 - biggest town 100 miles away small. Small enough that I decided to get out for college, going to a slightly larger city. I wound up going to school at Calvin College in not-so-scenic Grand Rapids, MI, where I studied Computer Science and Mathematics. If you're cringing because you just read the words "studied" and "mathematics" in the same sentence, seriously, it wasn't that bad. After graduating, I decided to upgrade cities again, and wound up in fair Chicago.
